About

How It All Started

In January of 2022, Jose Angel Pena passed
due to complications from COVID-19. With Jose’s untimelypassing, came a multitude of unplanned costs his family was unprepared for. In a combined effort with Royal Services LLC of Artesia, we are here to offset a few of the costs associated with the passing of a loved one.

Jose gave unconditional love and worked endlessly to aid others. He would give the shirt off his back if he
thought it would help someone in need. Keeping
Jose's spirit of self-less acts alive, The Pena Project is
striving to bring a little light to families in their
darkest times.

We partner with funeral homes throughout Chaves and Eddy Counties to provide direct financial assistance for families facing the unexpected loss of a loved one.The cost of a funeral can range from approximately $3,000 to more than $9,500, creating an overwhelming financial burden during an already difficult time.

Through the generosity of our community,
The Pena Project is able to help ease that burden by paying funeral homes directly on behalf of qualifying families.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, every donation makes a meaningful difference and helps ensure that local families can honor their loved ones with dignity. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and continued support of our mission.
